Transcontinental Air Transport built Port Washington airport at Kingman after Lindbergh’s assessment that the existing field could not be adequately expanded to handle TAT’s Tri-Motors. The future Kingman Army Air Field would be built roughly in the area of the light "X" in front of the wing tip of the photo aircraft.
