More than one aircraft in the air at a time was an unusual sight at Baltra but here, two B-24Ds prepare to execute a tactical landing, the lead aircraft over the Base Operations complex and the visiting and one-and-only 20th Troop Carrier Squadron (Sp) Boeing XC-105 (the former XB-15) that was a frequent visitor visible just left of lower center. There is a B-17E in the revetment just to its right. (Robert Livingston)
