The 13th production L-6-IN, 43-2571, msn 14, displaying its astonishing short-field climb ability at Wright Field. Note that the censor had attempted to scrub out the full serial number, which was painted on initial series aircraft on the fuselage sides in yellow, just ahead of the national insignia. This aircraft survived the war to become NC53520. (via Capt. Richard Dann)
